Paulsen to Compete in Congressional Hockey Challenge

Washington, D.C.– Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) will compete in the 7th annual Congressional Hockey Challenge (CHC) at Kettler Capitals Iceplex, the practice facility of the NHL’s Washington Capitals, on Wednesday, March 25 at 7 pm. A bipartisan team of Congressmen, Canadian Members of Parliament, and staff will take on a roster composed of lobbyists. NHL legends Alan May and Peter Bondra, as well as members of the USA Warriors Hockey program, will also suit up in the game.

“For a Minnesotan, getting out on the ice is as natural as a fish swimming in water,” said Paulsen. “Playing in this game means getting away from the halls of Congress and having some fun with my colleagues. Even better, the game raises funds for a number of commendable charities benefiting our veterans and inner city youth.”

Funds raised by the CHC will go to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund, the Fort Dupont Hockey Club, and USA Warriors Hockey – a program for wounded veterans. More information can be found at the CHC website, here.

Paulsen, a champion of small business and advocate of free enterprise, entrepreneurship, and innovation, serves on the House Ways and Means Committee, the bicameral Joint Economic Committee, and is co-chair of the Congressional Medical Technology Caucus.
