Paulsen Statement on Immigration Vote

WASHINGTON -- Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) today issued the following statement after the House of Representatives rejected a compromise immigration reform bill:

"I signed a discharge petition over the objections of my own leadership to force this debate, and I'm not giving up," said Paulsen."Unfortunately, a minority of Republicans and every Democrat voted against securing the border and securing a future for young immigrants brought to this country through no fault of their own.”

“Hardliners in both parties are stopping us from moving forward and making real progress,” Paulsen continued.“I'm going to be talking to my colleagues like Rep. Carlos Curbelo to plan a path forward. We need to permanently end the separation of kids from their parents at the border and give young DACA recipients certainty. It's too important to give up now."
