CONGRESSMAN WALZ AND CONGRESSMAN PAULSEN JOIN BROAD COALITION IN SUPPORT OF BIPARTISAN, COMPREHENSIVE APPROACH TO ENERGY INDEPENDENCE
11/24/09St. Paul, MN – Today, Congressman Tim Walz and Congressman Erik Paulsen joined business and labor leaders and state officials to announce support for a bipartisan, comprehensive approach to energy strategy and to call for an end to Minnesota's moratorium on new nuclear power plants.

Paulsen Introduces Legislation to End Bailout Program
11/18/09Continuing his effort to protect taxpayers by bringing an end to the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) today introduced the TARP Sunset Act, legislation that will end the program at the end of this year. Paulsen's bill, which mirrors an amendment he offered in the House Financial Services Committee yesterday, would officially terminate the TARP program on December 31st, 2009 and prevent a possible extension of the program, which remains an option under current law.

Paulsen Works to End Bailout Program by End of Year
11/17/09During legislative markup in the House Financial Services Committee today, Congressman Erik Paulsen (MN-03) offered a proposal to end bailout spending through the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) by the end of 2009 and use remaining funds to reduce the national debt. Paulsen's proposal, offered as an amendment to the Financial Stability Improvement Act of 2009, was unfortunately rejected on close committee vote of 30-37.
